About Lana Bolycheva
Lana is a Russian Writer/Director based in New York City.
Born in the USSR. Three years after her birth, the country ceased to exist.
Growing up during the collapse, restructuring, and reformation of a global superpower, Lana from an early age was drawn to theater, cinema, and literature. Where she has found a liberating escape from a brutal reality.
That led her to earn her first degree in Acting. After working for several years in theater and TV shows, she earned her second degree as a Film Director and works in film productions since 2011. Her most recent short film Let my Grandpa into Heaven has premiered at the Austin Film Festival.
Lana is currently an MFA candidate at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Graduate Film program
and working on her first feature film Dysphoria.
